Women's Caring Program
The Women's Caring Program is committed to providing financial assistance for licensed child care to low-income parents for one year. Quality childcare provides disadvantaged children a stimulating and cultivating environment--a proven strong influence on social and economic success.
Through its ChildCare Commitment Program, the WCP partners with the Michigan 4C Association to provide awards to low-income families that enable access to better care. In 2007, WCP supported 82 families. Currently there are over300 families on WCP's waiting list.
WCP's Childcare Commitment includes:
* Encouraging parents to maintain employment and/or complete their education.
* Increasing self-sufficiency of parent over time.
* Providing children with a quality childcare experience that improves their development.
