| The City of Birmingham hosted its annual kick-off to the summer on Sunday, May 18, 2008. This year's parade theme celebrated the City's 75th birthday. In 1933, Roosevelt was President, the first All-Star baseball game was played and Birmingham was incorporated into a city.
The parade included the ever-popular Basset Hound Waddle in addition to high school bands, community groups, classic cars and floats. Activities in Shain Park included: children's games and crafts, a petting farm, giant inflatables, Dan Dan the Choo Choo Man, classic car display, food vendors, and music by The G-Daddys. |
